55-year-old Deziranda Nyafwono, a resident of Ligingi Village Nabuyoga Sub County in Tororo district is on the verge of losing three fingers on her right hand due to treatment gone wrong. Nyafwono was wrongly injected on her right arm by a self-proclaimed doctor on her village only identified as Maketch.

It all started on May 8th 2016 when Nyafwono approached Maketch at his village clinic complaining of fever. After explaining her condition, Maketch reportedly administered an injection on Nyafwono's right arm without any explanation. According to Nyafwono, she felt pain the whole night where she had been injected before her right arm was paralyzed.

The spot started itching and before she knew it, her entire arm started swelling. Nyafwono was taken to Tororo main hospital when her condition worsened for better management, where she has been for a month now. Godfrey Oloka, a son to Nyafwono accuses Maketch of injecting his mother with poison, a claim he vehemently denies insisting that he injected her Gentamicin.

Nyafwono told URN while sobbing on her sick bed at Tororo hospital this morning that she can hardly take care of her family because of the condition of her fingers. But Dr. Andrew Opette, who has been treating Nyafwono at Tororo Main hospital, says her condition has improved as she no longer goes through the severe pain.
