Police have arrested Godfrey Luwaga; a UPDF veteran for shooting and injuring Emmanuel Kilakya, vice chairman Bwaisa boda boda stage. Luwaga was picked up by police from Bwaise after shooting Kilakya three times in the arm. Ibin Ssekumbi, Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesman says that Luwaga shot the Kilakya during a scuffle that broke out between rival boda boda factions in Bwaise today. He says that trouble started when Luwaga went to Bwaise to mobilize boda boda motorists to escort President Yoweri Museveni for his election nominations. Ssekumbi says that when Luwaga arrived in Bwaise, a group of motorists allied to Kananura; the former Bwaise Stage boda boda chairman started a scuffle. He says that as a result Luwaga drew out his pistol and opened fire injuring Kilakya. Ssekumbi says that Kilakya is nursing bullet wounds at Mulago hospital. He says that Police is also hunting for another veteran only identified as Lt Walusimbi in connection to the shooting. Ssekumbi claims that police have received information that Walusimbi also opened fire during the scuffle.
