The Uganda Cranes will face a tough test this afternoon when they take on Zanzibar in their second Group B game of the on-going Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup.

After a shock 2-0 loss to defending champions Kenya on Sunday, the 13-time Cecafa Cup record winners cannot afford another defeat. "We are back to the drawing board because we need to show character in our game against Zanzibar," said head coach Milutin ‘Micho' Sredojevic.

The game to take place at the Hawassa Stadium, 275km out of the capital Addis Ababa  promises to be a thriller since none of the teams will want to suffer a second defeat. Zanzibar lost 1-0 to Burundi in the opening game of the tournament.

Sredojevic said although in-experience of his players cost them against Kenya, they are determined to bounce back. "I know playing against  Zanzibar who also lost their first match will not be easy," said Sredojevic.

Skipper Farouk Miya who netted three goals when Uganda Cranes ejected Togo in the 2018 World Cup qualifier together with Ceaser Okuthi are expected to play key roles for the Cranes. The second game of the day will see Rwanda and Tanzania face-off in a Group A tie at the same Stadium.

In games played on Monday guest side Malawi beat Sudan 2-1, while South Sudan defeated Djibouti 2-0. It was South Sudan's first win in the Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup history since they joined in 2012.
