The Uganda Cranes will today face Malawi's Flames in an early afternoon quarter final clash in the on-going Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Coach Milutin ‘Micho' Sredojevic's side qualified after topping Group B with two wins after stopping Zanzibar (4-0), Burundi (1-0) and losing 2-0 in the opening game to defending champions Kenya.

Sredojevic has said he is happy his team has been improving in every game since the tournament started. "I am hoping we can put up even a much better performance at this stage of the tournament," added the Serbian.

The Cranes will also be seeking a revenge after the Flames beat them 1-0 in an International friendly at the Kamuzu Stadium in July. Striker Chiukepo Msowoya who scored the lone already has two goals in the tournament in Ethiopia.

Farouk Miya who already has two goals to his credit together with Ceaser Okuthi are expected to lead the Cranes attack. After their shocking 2-0 loss to lowly ranked South Sudan in the last Group C match last week, Malawi have promised to come all out to prove a point against Uganda.

Hosts Ethiopia will face Tanzania in the second quarter final clash this afternoon at the same Stadium. The two teams settled for a 1-all draw in the last group game last week.

On Tuesday arch-rivals South Sudan and Sudan will face-off before Rwanda take on Kenya in the last quarter final of the tournament. Sudan's Ather El Tahir currently leads the top scorers chart with four goals after the group stages, while Rwanda's Jacques Tuyisenge has three.
