The Cranes have been pooled alongside Morocco, Burkina Faso and Zimbabwe for the CHAN competition slated for January 11 to February 1, 2014 in South Africa.

Uganda Cranes Head Coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has announced that the National team will tomorrow start preparations for the 2014 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN).

The Tournament is slated for January 11 to February 1, 2014 in South Africa.

Micho says that although they wanted to start training Early, the Federation decided to push it forward.

Micho reveals that the defender/midfielder Dennis Iguma who has been out injured will also make the team. The SC Victoria University player had been ruled out for the tournament because of a nagging injury, but Micho says he is better and getting ready for the event.

Iguma who scored the lone goal when the Cranes beat Tanzania 1-0 in the first leg of the CHAN qualifier in Dar es Salaam missed several Cranes games recently including the regional CECACA Senior Challenge Cup.

The Coach said Iguma’s club had helped so much to see that the player gets better quickly.

Micho disclosed that the player underwent the general medical tests that the whole team underwent early this week, but added that the results will be known on Friday.

Striker Frank Kalanda who opted to travel to Vietnam for trials and missed the medical examinations will also miss the CHAN tournament together with team captain Hassan Wasswa who has since absconded from his Club KCCA FC and the national team.
