The Togo Sparrows will test Uganda Cranes in an international friendly match this evening starting at 8pm at the Stade de Kegue Stadium, Lome.

Portugal based attacking midfielder William Luwagga Kizito told URN online on Monday that they are going all out to take the build-up seriously to prepare them better for the Ghana game. "This game means a lot to us because it will give us good perspective ahead of the Ghana game," added Kizito.

The Cranes are using the match to prepare to face the Black Stars of Ghana on Friday in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Tamale Stadium.

Head coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic will be eager to test his low scoring strikers Geoffrey Massa, Yunus Ssentamu, Hamis 'Diego' Kiiza and Farouk Miya.

In their last meeting last year in the World Cup qualifier Uganda beat Togo 1-0 before winning 3-0 in Kampala. But the Togo team who have also qualified for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) under much traveled coach Claude Le Roy will be eager to prove a point.

Former Arsenal and Real Madrid striker Emmanuel Adebayor who is now club-less and Turkey based Serge Akakapo are all expected to feature. After the game the Cranes are expected to arrive in Ghana on Thursday.

The Cranes will need to start the group qualifying round with a decent result against the Black Stars of Ghana on Friday before they host Congo Brazzaville next month.
