Butaleja police are holding five people including three witch doctors suspected to be behind the ritual murder a ten- year -old child last week. Alex Wabwire, the Butaleja District Police Commander has declined to identify the suspect for fear of jeopardizing police investigations.

The witch-doctors were picked up from Dumanghale Rock near Mpologoma swamp Budumba Sub County where the torso of an unidentified 10-year-old boy was found lying in a pool of blood. He says they also picked up two other suspects in Bugiri district in connection to the same crime. Wabwire says they found several shrines at the homes of the witch-doctors where they also recovered some exhibits.

Wabwire says police is still gathering more evidence as investigation into the incident continues before they are arraigned to court. All the suspects have denied any wrong doing. The body of the young boy was buried in hospital cemetery at Busolwe hospital after no one showed up to claim for it. A recent report by UNICEF on child sacrifice showed an increased demand of body parts of minors for ritual.
