Soroti man Handed 3 Year Prison Sentence for Theft

A 29-year-old man is handed a three year prison sentence for theft.
 
Ronald Sindo a resident of Akisim cell, Eastern Division in Soroti district was convicted after pleading guilty of stealing gates, windows, doors and metallic ventilators.
 
The Grade one Magistrate court heard that Sindo stole two gates, three windows, three doors and three metallic ventilators and sold them as scrap to Hellen Abeso, a renowned business woman in the area.
 
Aloysius Natwijuka, the Grade one Magistrate sentenced Sindo saying that he abused the generosity of those who offered him free accommodation.

 Natwijuka added that, Sindo wasted court time by first denying the crime. Sindo later pleaded guilty after evidence was adduced in Court.

Natwijuka also ordered Abeso to be arrested and be charged for buying stolen property.
