SFC Tightens Security Ahead of Swearing in of Ex-Officios

There is heightened security at parliament ahead of the swearing in of ex-officials this afternoon. Our reporter at parliament says officers from the Special Forces Command-SFC attached to the first lady, Janet Kataha Museveni have deployed strategically inside and outside the parliamentary building.
 
Some of the SFC officers have deployed in the North and South Wing of the parking space of parliament. Those outside the parliamentary building are clad in their uniform while those inside are clad in plan cloth. 

The officers have also disarmed the parliamentary police and taken over security of the house. Currently, the SFC officers are screening the equipment of journalists accredited to cover the house. 

Some of the ex-officios expected to take oath this afternoon include first lady and Education Minister, Janet Kataha Museveni, Prime Minister Dr.  Ruhakana Rugunda, Second Deputy Prime Minister and East Africa Affairs Minister, Ali Kirunda Kivenjinja,  Health Minister, Jane Achieng, Works and Transport Minister, Engineer Ntege Azuba,  Justice and Constitutional Affairs Minister, General Kahinda Otafire, Attorney General William Byaruhanga and Energy Minister, Engineer Irene Muloni.  

 
Parliament is also expected to constitute sectoral and standing committees today.
