Seven Killed In Fort Portal Accident

Seven people have been killed in an accident along the Kasese-Fort Portal road in Kabarole district. 

The accident occurred last night at about 11:00pm at Kigarama in Buheesi sub-county when a fuso truck registration number UAJ 659T swerved off the road and fell. 

Eye witnesses say the truck driver lost control after two tyres burst.  The truck was transporting traders and their merchandise from Kasese to Kampala.  

The OC traffic Kabarole district, Boaz Alinaitwe says the truck was carrying eleven traders and was overloaded with bananas and tomatoes. 
The dead have been identified as Francis Tumwine - the driver, Alex Mande, Anatoli Kisembo  and Sanyu Byamukama, hailing from different parts of Kabarole. 

Others are Florence Mirembe from Rakai district, a woman only identified as Tuhaise from Bushenyi and another unidentified woman. 

Four of the survivors are in a critical condition at Fort Portal Referral Hospital.
