Police has tightened security at Tooro Kingdom headquarters in Fort Portal following the eviction of the sacked premier William Nyakatura. Trouble started today at about 2:30 pm, when Charles Kamurasi, the head of the Babiito clan stormed the Kingdom headquarters to evict Nyakatura. Kamurasi told Nyakatura that he was under instructions from King Oyo Kabamba Nyimba Iguru to oversee the smooth hand over office because he was no longer the kingdom premier. Nyakatura resisted the forceful eviction and a scuffle ensued. Nyakatura said that he will not vacate the office of Tooro prime minister until he hands over. When the news of Nyakatura's forced eviction spread in the palace, ritual performers confronted Kamurasi and threatened to lynch him but he was rescued by Police that arrived in time. The police men dispersed the ritual performers and ordered Nyakatura to hand over office. King Oyo relieved Nyakatura of his duties as Tooro Prime minister in a letter dates October 15, 2010. In his place, King Oyo appointed Shem Lubaare, as the new Tooro prime minister. However, on Monday this week, elders and clan leaders in Tooro Kingdom passed a resolution blocking the sacking of Nyakatura as Kingdom premier. The elders rejected the letter sacking Nyakatura as a forgery and promised to investigate the matter. They accused some palace officials of inferring in the administration of the Kingdom in breach of the Tooro Kingdom constitution.
