Mayuge district security committee is investigating the disappearance of three children over the weekend. They are 13-year-old Zainaba Kulusum Namukose, 14-year-old Saniya Nabwangha and 8-year-old Hubaibu Kyebogera.  Namukose is one of the children who were reunited recently with their families after they were allegedly rescued from a training camp belonging to the rebel Allied Democratic Forces-ADF.

The disappearance of the trio was brought to the attention of the authorities in an August 28th letter written by Saidi Kasango, the LC I Bugangala A’ village in Busakira sub county of Mayuge district.
According to the letter, the three children left home for the burial of Muzamir Masinde, the father of Namukose.

However, on their way home the children were allegedly picked up by Budallah Musalafu and whisked off on a numberless motorcycle to unknown destination. Badru Ssebyala, Mayuge Resident District Commissioner says they have embarked on investigations to find the missing children.

He has appealed for calm saying there is no need for alarm as they are doing everything possible to get to the bottom of the matter.
