Scores Injured in School Bus Accident

Gabriel Ndyanabo, was part of a group of P.7 pupils from St. Mukasa Preparatory Seminary-Mushanga, aboard a Maryhill High School Bus on a study trip to Mweya Safari Lodge in Kasese district.

 One pupil died on spot and several others were seriously injured in a motor accident at Mushanga junction along Kabwohe-Ishaka highway.

The Bus driver, Nturabusha Dononzio, lost control and the bus vereed off the road and rolled several times before it stopped below a slope at Mushanga hill, just a half a kilometer from the school campus to the main road.
  
The injured are admitted at Kampala international university hospital in Ishaka-Bushenyi municipality.
 
The bus had 60 pupils on board and 9 staff members, among them the school headmaster Fr. Godwin Muhangi who was by press time still gripped with shock.
 
The Kabwohe Police station traffic officer, Wasswa Ismail, said the accident occurred at 6:45 a.m in the morning. The bus has been towed to the police station.
