Juma Hassan Nyene, East Kyoga regional police spokesman confirms  the arrest

Nyene says Ejalu has a case to answer for negligence in the course of his work that led to the death of a student.

Alex Daniel Okema, a 14 year old Senior 3 student, was electrocuted on Good Friday while trying to retrieve a ball from the roof of the students’ dormitory.

Nyene points out that if the school dormitory was dilapidated the electrician should have advised the administration to arrange for proper wiring as soon as possible.

He adds that the Police will also investigate Ejalu’s qualifications.

He notes that the file has been submitted to the Resident State Attorney to advice on the charge.

Sylvester Ocaatum , the school head teacher, says Ejalu had worked at the school as an electrician for five years.

According to teachers who did not want to be named, the wiring in the school was last worked on in the 1950s during the school's construction.
