Police in Kamwenge have busted a racket of suspected robbers with the arrest of three people. The suspects are Robert Muhimbise, Esau Kamuhanda, and Godfrey Kiiza, all of Masaka ward in kamwenge town council. James Musinguzi, the Kamwenge deputy Criminal Investigations Officer, says the trio was arrested on Monday evening with four stolen mattresses. Police say they laid a trap following a tip off from a group of other robbers who were arrested in Kamwenge town on Friday last week. Musinguzi says that the robbers led the police to their hideout leading to the arrest of the three suspects. The criminal investigations officer says that police are hunting for three other suspects believed to be on the run. The arrests come amid concerns about the rising rates of robberies in Kamwenge. The suspects have so far confessed to stealing people's properties from kamwenge district and taking them to their fellow thugs in Buremba Kiruhura district.
