David Opi Alila, the PPP secretary general says the national executive, the Party's highest organ decided that Bidandi takes leave and surrenders power to his vice president Dick Odur.

Cue Out:…..plays a low role.//

He attributes the low expansion of the party structures and failure to lobby funding to the inability of the party's president to certain organise activities.

According to Alila, the term of the incumbent PPP president expired mid last year, but the party failed to hold a delegate's conference due to lack of resources.

He says while the national council resolved to grant the current leadership another year, the president general's role had to be reviewed.

Alila however says that despite agreeing to leave the day to the day running of the party to the national executive, Bidandi is still the PPP chairperson.

The party has currently embarked on hunting for 250 million shillings needed to convene the delegate's conference to elect the new party leadership.

Alila disclosed that they have already embarked on the countrywide mobilization of village structures, but declined to reveal their source of funding for the campaign.
