Police Warns of ADF Arson Attacks on Schools

The police are warning of plans to carry out arson attacks on schools around the country by the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF).
                                      
In a statement, the Inspector General of Police Maj Gen Kale Kayihura says they have received credible intelligence that the ADF terrorist cells within the Central and Eastern regions are planning attacks on schools.
 
The IGP Kayihura says this alert is for all school administration and the entire public to be extra vigilant and report any suspicious person and activities in their vicinity to the nearest Police.
 
They are thus calling on the school administrations’ to urgently ensure access control in schools by deploying capable guards 24/7 at gates and all entry points.
 
All visitors are checked and there should be metal detectors to detect possible intrusion of explosive materials such as bombs to check everybody accessing the premises.
 
Kayihura is also calling for installation of security lights and alarms to be placed along non-porous perimeter fences. All educational institutions have also been asked to implement the basic standards for safety and security provided to them by the Ministry of Education.
 
Maj Gen Kayihura assures the public that the police and all its sister security agencies are determined and committed to ensure that law, order, peace and security prevails in all parts of the country.
