Police Holds One Over Murder

Kaberamaido police are holding a man for his alleged involvement in the brutal murder an elderly man. The suspect is David Odima, a resident of Emakeroc village, Ochero Sub County in Kaberamaido district.

 
He is accused of masterminding the killing of Yuventino Emong, also a resident of Emakeroc village. The area LC I chairperson, Richard Nyanga, says the deceased was attacked by unknown assailants in the wee hours of Friday morning.

 
According to Nyanga, the assailants strangled their victim before they chopped off his head and dumped his body about 300 meters from his home. Nyanga says the deceased has for long been accused by some residents of witchcraft.

 
Samson Olobo, the deceased's son suspects that his father was killed because of jealous as he was getting rich through farming. Helen Arakit, the Office in Charge of Criminal Investigations Kaberamaido, says they are holding Odima as a prime suspect in the murder.

 
He was tracked with the help of a sniffer dog. According to Arakit, the assailants also stole 8 bags of assorted serials including beans, maize and Groundnut from the deceased's home. Arakit says another suspect identified as Julius Opio is on the run. Odima is being under CRB number 486/2016.
