Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin ‘Micho' Sredojevic has said Emmanuel Okwi, Godfrey Kizito and Moses Oloya will not make the squad preparing  for the opening game of the 2017 Afcon qualifier.

The Cranes will host Botswana on June 13 in their Group D encounter of the 2017 Afcon qualifier at the Mandela National Stadium. The other teams in the Group include Comoros and 2012 finalists Burkina Faso.

Sredojevic told URN that he is leaving out some players because they have not been in good form for some months now, but added that he will consider them for the other games.

The Coach said some of the professionals who are not invited include Emmanuel Okwi, Daniel Walusimbi (Tanzania), Geoffrey Kizito, Moses Oloya (Vietnam) and Ivan Bukenya (South Africa).

Before the Afcon qualifier, Uganda Cranes will test their readiness with an International friendly game against South Africa's opponents in the qualifiers Gambia on June 9th in Kampala. The Gambia Scorpions who  will camp in Kampala before fitting to South Africa for the game are expected to use their top European based players for the game.

Sredojevic said he will have the trio of Boban Zirintusa, Geoffrey Massa and goalkeeper Dennis Onyango from the South African top League all making the squad. The Coach explained that he will have some of the players who will be part of the 2016 Africa Nations Championship qualifier squad make it to the senior team for the Afcon qualifiers.

The other notable professionals who will make the team include; Junior Yunus Ssentamu (Tunisia), Alex Kakuba, William Kizito Luwagga, Patrick Edema (Portugal) and Brian Majwega (Tanzania) among others.
