The former SC Villa goalkeeper who has been with the Ethiopian side for over five seasons will replace first choice goalkeeper Denis Onyango who will be suspended for that match. The Mamelodi Sundowns player Onyango picked another yellow card away in Liberia which keeps him suspended for the game.

Fred Kajoba, the Cranes goalkeeper’s coach, told Uganda Radio Network that Odonkara who is enjoying good from will be invited.

The choice landed on Odonkara because he has been quite active.

The Cranes, who are at the bottom of Group J in the qualifiers, badly need to beat Liberia to revive their qualification hopes for the next round of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers. Senegal currently tops the group with five points, while Liberia are second with four points and Angola in third place.

Kajoba, however, stressed that the goalkeepers who will be invited then will have to work hard to break through to make the first team. Abbey Dhaira, who features for Simba FC in the Tanzanian League and Vipers FC’s Hamza Muwonge are the other goalkeepers expected to make the Cranes squad.
