NRM Sets Dates for Parliamentary Primaries

The ruling National Resistance Movement-NRM party Electoral Commission has set 26th October as the date for the election of LC V chairperson, Mayoral and parliamentary candidates.

This ends the long wait by candidates following the postponement of the primaries that were initially set for 25th September. 

As the same media briefing, Richard Todwong, the NRM deputy secretary general announced 30th October to 2nd November as the dates for the party national delegates conference.

 
According to Todwong, the dates were agreed upon during the Central Executive Committee meeting held on Monday evening at Mosa Courts chaired by the NRM vice chairman Al-haji Moses Kigongo.

The delegates are expected to elect top national NRM party leaders at the National Delegates conference. Some of the posts lined up for competition include those of regional NRM vice chairpersons.
