Nakumatt Holdings managing director Shah Atul, says all theSupermarket outlets across the region will remain closed on Sunday during themorning hours. Nakumatt operated a flagship store at the Westgate before theattack on September 21st last year.

The prayers which are open to the public will be led by respectiveNakumatt branch chaplains and catechists. At noon, the chain supermarket willalso disrupt its normal operations to observe a minute of silence in memory ofthe departed souls and victims of the terror attack.

Shah says the events on that fateful Saturday are still verypainful, the reason the entire Nakumatt fraternity shall be taking time off onSunday to say memorial prayers to seek God's comfort, global peace, love andharmony.

In Nairobi, Shah will also lead Nakumatt staffers to light amemorial candle outside the Westgate Shopping mall at 12 noon on Sunday, theexact time gunmen burst into Westgate last year.

Similarly Kenya's First lady Margret Kenyatta launched a twomonths exhibition in memory of the victims. The exhibition showcases twentystories and portraits of the attack survivors and those closely involved. Italso includes photographs, cartoons as well as documentaries about the attack.
