Luweero district National Resistance Movement chairman, Ronald Ndawula wants the NRM Secretariat to discipline or dismiss Abdul Nadduli for destabilizing the party.

A disagreement has developed between former Luweero district National Resistance Movement (NRM) party chairman, Abdul Nadduli and the current party leadership.

This after Nadduli formed parallel party structures in the district. Nadduli recently opened a parallel party office at Mulindwa building located at Kasana in Luweero Town Council.

He also mobilized NRM primaries losers and independents as leaders in his structures.

The Luweero NRM chairperson, Ronald Ndawula also says Nadduli is engaged in financing and mobilizing support for independents against the party flag bearers.

Ndawula wants the NRM secretariat to invoke rules 4 and 5 of the constitution of the party to discipline or dismiss Nadduli for destabilizing the party in the district.

But Nadduli, who is also NRM vice chairperson for Central Region defends his move, saying he intends to consolidate the party and presidential candidate, Yoweri Museveni's support in the district.

He explains that some party flag bearers and leaders in structures were irregularly elected, which left supporters divided.

Nadduli says the offices will stay even after elections and will be used  to monitor government programmes in the district.

Paul Mukungu, the Chairperson of NRM Entrepreneurs' League says despite defeat, Nadduli still commands respect among supporters and instituting a parallel structure has worsened divisions.

Mukungu wants NRM Secretariat to reconcile Nadduli and Ndawula because they are the source of all troubles that may affect the party's performance in the district.

Sam Sserunjogi, the LC 3 chairperson of Katikamu sub-county says there is duplication of NRM work and asked Nadduli to re-unite with the mainstream to hunt for votes for President Museveni.

Nadduli did not seek re-election as Luweero NRM chairperson, but was defeated in contest for LC 5 chairperson flag bearer. Nadduli has however refused to campaign for Ronald Ndawula, the NRM party flag bearer and backed Ali Ndawula Ssekyanzi, who joined the race as independent.
