Musoke stopped Cameroon's Mouhamabn Issouhou at the semi final stage on Friday night at the Mohammed V Stadium Complex. Musoke got a bye in the preliminary round before he defeated Gabon's Gaspard Nzue at the quarterfinal stage.

Uganda's Mazida Muhammad Bunya has already secured a bronze medal after he lost out in the semi finals in the 69kg category. The other junior bombers Ukasha lost out at the quarter final stage in the 64kg category.

Jafer Onen and Collin Mutyaba suffered defeats to Nigerian boxers in the first round. Fisher John Odoch also lost out in the early stages.

The Continental championship that features all top boxing nations in Africa involving both boys and girls will climax on Saturday. Uganda received an invitation from the world governing body AIBA, the world governing body to participate in the championships that features youth below the age of 18.

Moses Muhangi, President of the Uganda Boxing Federation (UBF) told URN from Morocco that he is happy with the performance of the team. " We struggled to raise money to send a team of six boxers and now we are assured of two medals. But the exposure is also good for our boxers," he added.

He said since they took over office in February they have started well by sending five boxers to the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games where Juma Miiro won a bronze medal in the light flyweight 46-49kg category.
