Kabula county Member of Parliament James Kakooza has been transferred to Kampala for specialized treatment.

Kakooza was involved in a nasty accident at Lwebiteete village in Kiruhura district on Sunday,  when his vehicle registration number UBB 826A knocked a motorcycle killing Enos Kishokye a resident of Nyakahita in Nyakasharara sub county. Kisokye, is a pastor attached to Lwebiteete Church of God.

Two other people were injured in the accident.  They include Evelyn Kalisizo and Joan Apolla who  are hospitalized at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital.

MP Kakooza's Political Assistant Abel Katunguka says the MP is out of danger and has been transferred to Kampala for further management. He says Kakooza sustained a fracture on the right arm. According to Katunguka, they need to conduct several scans to establish if the MP didn't sustain internal injuries.

Katunguka says Kakooza was rushing to Mbarara for a political talk show on a local station when he got the accident. A health worker who first attended to Kakooza at Mayanja Memorial Hospital confirmed that the legislator is out of danger. She however, said they couldn't tell whether or not he sustained internal injuries.

This is the second time Kakooza is involved in a motor accident within a space of one month. The last incident occurred at Mpigi district along Masaka- Kampala highway where he also knocked a motorcyclist to death.

In 2008, Kakooza survived another accident when his vehicle veered off the road and rolled several times on his way to Bukanga in Mbarara district.
