Mukula, who contested as the NRM candidate for Soroti Municipality, was declared elected this afternoon, after poling 9169 votes. Michael Oguttu, Soroti District Returning Officer said Mukula's main rival Moses Akena, the FDC candidate polled 6098 candidate. Dr Godfrey Egwau and his junior brother Peter Ojur both independent candidates, shared between them 500 votes. Meanwhile in Bulambuli, Irene Muloni, the former Managing Director of Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited is celebrating a landslide victory for the district Woman MP Seat. Muloni polled 35,077 votes beating her only rival Grace Masa Namboozo, the FDC candidate. Inyasio Wamukuyu Mudimi, the incumbent Bulambuli County Member of Parliament also bounced back with a landslide victory. Mudimi garnered 26, 804 votes ahead of his FDC rival Samuel Gachari who polled 13,426 votes. According to the results released by Christine Kunihira, the Bulambuli Returning Officer Milton Makoyi, an independent candidate came third with 838 votes while Julius Wokanyafe came fourth with 493 votes.
