Mbarara Town Clerk on the Spot for Skipping PAC Sessions

Mbarara Municipal Town Clerk, Edward Lwanga is on the spot for skipping meetings organised by Mbarara District Public Accounts Committee to respond to audit queries. 

The Town clerk has reportedly turned down several invitations and instead delegated junior officers to represent him yet they can't respond to the queries. 

Godwin Gumisiriza, the Chairperson Mbarara District Public Accounts Committee, says they expected the town clerk to show up for the two days they sat in vain.
 
 
He says the Committee has given the town clerk an ultimatum of one month to appear before the committee to respond to the queries he didn't reveal.

Gumisiriza says the committee is committee to ensure the tax payer's money is fully accounted for.


Edward Lwanga, the Mbarara Town Clerk denied any wrong, saying he is will to appear before the committee if the members are dissatisfied with the explanation from his juniors
