Simon Elukut, a resident of Oriau B village in Omasia parish in Magoro Sub County Katakwi district has drowned in Abosoito swamp along Magoro Angisa road. Elukut drowned is believed to have drowned on Monday as he was fishing in the swamp. His body was found by residents on Monday evening. Okwaput says that relatives of the deceased say that Elukut left home to go fishing in the swamp. He says that Abosoito swamp is one of the places that were recently flooded by torrential rains. He says that the death of Elukut brings to two, the number of people who have drowned in Abosoito swamp since the beginning of this year. Joseph Okwi, the Katakwi Criminal Investigations Officer suspects that the deceased could have slipped into the water while fishing.
