Lwengo Accident Claims 6 Students, 10 Critically injured

A Fuso truck has overturned in Lwengo district killing six students of Seke School and critically injuring 10 others. The accident occurred at about 8pm on Thursday evening at Kyangwe trading center in Kisekka Sub County. The students were returning from a football match in Mabirizi. Joseph Kasagga, an eye witness says that the Fuso number UAQ 603L in which the students were traveling was speeding when it overturned.
 
Kasagga claims that he counted at least six bodies that were trapped in the wreckage of the Fuso truck, while 10 others were rushed to Masaka Referral Hospital in critical condition. Paul Wataka, the Lwengo District Police Commander says the bodies of the deceased students have been taken to Masaka Hospital mortuary. Wataka says that some of the victims sustained broken limbs and injuries on their heads. He says that they are still hunting for Mubaraka Mukasa, the driver of the ill fated truck.

The identities of the dead students were not yet established by the time of filing this story because their Identity cards were in the mud at the accident scene. Police has not yet established the cause of the accident, but suspects overloading. Hakim Rugasa, the Head Teacher Seke secondary school declined to comment on the accident saying he was not at school when it occurred.
