Kyambogo University Enhances Transcripts with New Security Features

Kyambogo University has adopted new transcripts with advanced security features that will help reduce the result falsification and forgery.

The new transcripts have bar codes that can be read through scanners and a range of other mobile devices. University Officials say that the change will also ease verification of transcripts.

John Okuonzi, the ICT in charge at Kyambogo University says the decision to phase out the old transcript was made after the university introduced E-Campus, a software used to electronically run the university activities and services.

He says the new system saves both the graduates and employers the burden of manually verifying the transcripts for authenticity.

Okuonzi says that old transcripts that were issued earlier will remain in use until all data is migrated to the new system.  He says once this is done, the old transcripts will be totally eliminated.

Kyambogo University supervises about eight NTC's, All Primary Teachers' Colleges and a number of other institutions. Okuonzi says with the introduction of the new system transcripts will be printed instantly when the results are entered into the data base and approved by the relevant authorities.
