Kyambogo University Clears 97 Students for Graduation

Professor Elli Rwakishaya Katunguka, the Acting Vice Chancellor Kyambogo University publically apologised to the affected students and presented them for graduation on Wednesday.

97 students, who had initially missed out on the Kyambogo University graduation list, have finally graduated. They were among close to a thousand students, who were said to have had retakes and therefore couldn't graduate.
 

However, after through crosschecking, university management realised that the 97 students had cleared and were mistakenly left out from the graduation list. As a result, the affected students were cleared for graduation.

Katunguka also apologised to students whose names were wrongly omitted from the graduation list. He says the university has now introduced a computerised results management system, which will make it easy to tally results and feed them instantly on the university data base.
 

Professor John Okedi, the Kyambogo University Council, Chairperson, said over the years, the university has become the largest institution in the country. He asked government to allocate more funds to the university because of the enormous task at hand.

Professor John Sebuwufu, the Chancellor Kyambogo University challenged the graduates to use the knowledge they have acquired to serve their communities better.
 



He reminded that graduates that their parents made big financial sacrifices, which must not go to waste. 6509 students are expected to graduate this year with Masters Degrees, Post Graduate Diplomas, undergraduate degrees, diplomas and certificates.
