Abdi Shaur Kotido, the Kotido District Education and Health Secretary, has appeared in court for assault. Shaur was arraigned before the Kotido Grade I Magistrate, Isaac Mulondo this morning for assaulting Esther Moding, a supervisor at Kotido Health Centre IV.

 
 
He was charged with causing grievous harm to Moding. It is alleged while on a supervisory tour at Kotido Health Centre IV on June 12, 2017, Shaur kicked Moding in the stomach and hit her with motorcycle keys in the face leaving her with a permanent injury.

Shaur pleaded not guilty to the charges and applied for bail. He presented three sureties including Mathew Lochoto Akeronsky, the Kotido District Works and Technical Services Secretary and the Deputy Speaker, Timothy Lokawa.
 
 
Isaac Mulondo, the Kotido Grade I Magistrate granted the accused bail and ordered him to execute a non-cash bond of Shillings 5 million. He also committed the councilor to Kotido chief magistrate's court for hearing on July 28th, 2017.
