Kipsiro Wins Morrisons Great South Run In Portsmouth

Uganda's Moses Kipsiro and Vivian Cheruiyot (Kenya) on Sunday won the men and women's (10 miles) races of the 2015 Morrisons Great South Run in Portsmouth, UK.


The Commonwealth Games double gold medalist who also missed the 2015 All Africa Games was in good form to clock a time of 46.00. 


Kipsiro was faster than Kenya's Emmanuel Kipsang (46.08) and former Great South Run champion Emmanuel Bett (46.11). "I'm so happy. ‘I enjoyed the race because of the weather and the course," said Kipsiro after the race.


The 29-year old Kipsiro recently also won the 2015 Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run half-marathon.


In the women's race Cheruiyot, a five-time world champion was just 17 seconds outside the course record as she  clocked 51:17.


On November 15th another Ugandan star athlete Stephen Kiprotich, the Olympic Games marathon champion will compete in the Seven Hills Road Race in Netherlands.
