Kenyan authorities have handed over to the UPDF three guns and 96 heads of cattle that were rustled by Pokot warriors from Pian County in Moroto. The cows and the three guns were handed over to the Ugandan authorities by Joseph Mutale, the Kenyan North Pokot District Commissioner at Nasal. The cows were raided on August 26, 2010 when Pokot warriors attacked Pian County. The warriors also shot dead three UPDF soldiers and injured another civilian along Namalu road before making away with their guns. Captain Deo Akiki, UPDF 3rd division spokesman says that the recovered guns belong to the UPDF. Akiiki says that no warrior has been arrested in connection to the raid but the Kenyan authorities are still pursuing the suspects. He says that Ugandan authorities will continue sharing intelligence information with their Kenyan counterparts until the warriors are apprehended and prosecuted. According to Akiiki that disarmament process is on course because of the cross broad cooperation between the Ugandan and Kenyan security authorities.
