Sarah Nabikolo Ssebunya, the widow of the late city businessman Eria Ssebunya alias Kasiwukira has made a fresh bail application on grounds of ill health. The application is backed by two medical reports prepared by her personal physician and consultant, Dr. Dumba and Dr. Joseph Andama, the Medical Superintendent Murchison Bay prison Hospital.

In his report, Dr. Dumba says Nabikolo was diagnosed with hypertension, diabetes and HIV/AIDS. Dr. Dumba, who says he has been Nabikolo's personal physician for the last ten years, advises that given her health condition, she needs to follow a special and strict diet and keep away from any stressful conditions, which isn't possible in the prison set up.

In his report, Dr. Joseph Andama, the Medical Superintendent Murchison Bay prison Hospital states that Nabikolo has continued to lose weight despite her being on ARV treatment. He also notes that Nabikolo tested positive for abnormal kidney and liver functions and that her CD4 count and viral load have dropped, a medical condition he says signifies treatment failure.

As a result, court has directed the Prison authorities to produce Nabikolo on February 8 before the incoming head of the Criminal Division , Justice Wilson Masalu Musene to hear her bail application and decide whether or not to release her. Nabikolo is jointly charged along with her young sister Sandra Nakungu and a Police Officer Ashraf Jaden, who was attached at Muyenga Police post, for the murder of Kasiwukira.

This is the second time that Nabikolo is attempting to apply for bail pending the hearing of her case. Last year, Justice Jane Alivdza rejected Nabikolo's bail application for her failure to prove exceptional circumstances to warrant her release. Details of the case are that on October 14, 2014, while at Muyenga Diplomat Zone, Nabikolo and others murdered Kasiwukira, a former member of Kwagalana group. Kasiwukira was knocked dead by a speeding car during the morning run along the road.

Eye witnesses claimed that the driver of the killer car had parked alongside the road and ignited the engine upon seeing Kasiwukira. The vehicle reportedly drove towards Kasiwukira at a slow speed and accelerated upon approaching him and ran over him. The postmortem shows Kasiwukira died of multiple crash injuries. During the committal process, prosecution promised to prove that Nabikolo had a hand in her hubby's murder.
