Indian Rape Suspect Sent Back to Jail

Court in Soroti has further remanded Rauji Pindoria Vishran, an Asian contractor accused of raping a young woman at Soroti Senior secondary school.  Pindoria, who works with Ambitious Construction Company, appeared on Monday before Aloysius Natwijuka, the Soroti Grade one magistrate. 

Natwijuka sent back the suspect to prison after prosecution led by Elizabeth Nandala, the State attorney told court that investigations into the case against Pindoria were still ongoing. She asked court to allow the prosecution more time to conclude the investigations. Natwijuka remanded the suspect to prison to 10th February when his case will come up for mention.

Details of the case are that on November 14, 2013 while at Soroti Senior Secondary School where his company is undertaking some construction work, Pindoria had unlawfully sexually intercourse with his victim, whose identities have been withheld.
He was arrested after the victim filed a complaint at Soroti Central Police Station. In her statement, the rape victim claimed that Pindoria directed her to mop one of the isolated rooms in the new building at Soroti Senior Secondary School, where he raped her.
