Security operatives in Bushenyi district have arrested a health officer in-charge of a Health Centre II for alleged abuse of office and neglect of duty. Musafiri has allegedly been using the health centre facilities to illegally train nurses, coming late on duty and failing to attend to patients in time.
Moses Musafiri, the In-charge Nombe Health II in Kakanju Sub County was picked from the centre on Wednesday and handed over to police after a tip off from the concerned residents.

The chairperson for the health centre’s management committee, Edson Kabegambire, said Musafiri was arrested after receiving several complaints from the public.
One suspected illegal trainee identified as Evelyn Biira was also arrested after she was found prescribing drugs to patients.
The Bushenyi district criminal investigations officer Fredrick Wetai said Musafiri is likely to face charges of abuse of office while the trainee will face charges of impersonation.
Kabegambire said the health center management has warned Musafiri before on illegally training students at the center but he refused to take caution.
He also explained that Musafiri could close the centre especially the drug store and go away without leaving behind the keys.
Wetai said the district security committee has resolved to carryout an operation throughout government health centres in the district because they have received reports of misuse of the facilities.
