Four officials in charge of the north east regional football tournament have resigned.

The four are; the vice Chairman John Odongo, Richard Ochom the in-charge of competitions, Kesmon Esalu Youths affairs and James Onyait the treasurer.

They accuse the FUFA chairman Lawrence Mulindwa,  of breaching the constitution by appointing  a non delegate to head the league.

John Odongo, the chairman of FUFA Zone, explains that they are protesting a decision taken by FUFA to appoint someone who is not delegate to head the league.

Odongo says Mulindwa contravened the FUFA constitution by appointing Ibrahim Maraka to head the league, yet he is not a delegate as required by the FUFA constitution for one to be appointed to head a league committee.

Odongo explains that the election for FUFA did not take place in Bukedea,  because of lack of quorum. Members of the northeastern regional league tournament were surprised to see Maraka being fronted by Mulindwa as a delegate for Bukedea.

Odongo says he has written a protest letter to FUFA and is also considering taking legal action if the anomaly is not corrected.

Efforts to get a comment from FUFA were futile as several calls made to Rogers Mulindwa, the association spokesperson went unanswered.

Maraka the man accused of being handpicked by the FUFA chairman Lawrence Mulindwa says the president has a right to appoint him.

He however expressed fear that the resignations may affect the future of football in the region.

The northeastern league has however continued uninterrupted by the resignations with Ngora Fredcar Football Club leading the tournament with 13 points.
