The Police Flying Squad has picked up four people suspected to have been involved in a raid on traders at Busisi village along the Hoima-Fort Portal road on July 10th.
They are Ronald Kasujja, a resident of Rubaga in Kampala, Yusuf Masereka, a resident of Katodoba cell in Kasese Municipality, Sali Monday, a resident of Kigoba town council in Kiboga district and Aziz Ayebale, a resident of Lyantonde district.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Regional Police Spokesperson, says the suspects were picked up from Kampala after being trailed by officers from the Police Flying Squad.
According to Hakiza, three of the suspects have been transferred to Hoima district for investigations while the other is being held at Kampala Central Police Station following his arrest on Tuesday.
He says the suspects intercepted a Tipper truck registration number UAN 721S and placed all the nine occupants at gun point before they robbed them of Shillings 1 million in cash, 49 sacks of rice and mobile phones.

According to Hakiza, they are yet to recover the gun used by the suspects.

The arrest of the suspects comes barely two weeks after six other suspected robbers were arrested in Kiryandongo district on after robbing Shillings 12M from a businesswoman in Hoima town at gunpoint.
The suspects have since been transferred to Masindi where they are expected to appear in court. Hakiza who says highway robberies have not been common in Albertine, says they will do whatever they can to stop the crime.
