Residents of Dokolo are planning big parties to celebrate their district status. Dokolo which was curved out of Lira district, became operational on July 1st. The district will be officially inaugurated on Sunday at Angewcibange Primary School in Dokolo. During the meeting at St. Augustine Community Centre, Thursday morning, the joyous residents drew a five million shilling budget to facilitate the celebrations. Most of the residents said they were happy because they expect important government services to be made more available to them. Some of them said they were optimistic that they will be able to get basic services like education, health, and other social amenities much easier than it has been in the past. The Chairman of the Dokolo Community living in Lira town, Esau Otim said the organization will help set up a proper administration in order to ensure effective service delivery.
