Bishop Paul Ssemwogerere says despite this being an election year, politicians should not sow seeds of hatred and instead work for peace and unity.

The Catholic Bishop of Kasana-Luweero Diocese, Paul Ssemogerere has asked politicians contesting for various elective positions in 2016 to stop promoting hatred.

In his new year message, Bishop Ssemogerere says that 2015 has ended at a time when the election campaigns have heated up, with cases of violence being reported.

He warns that this can breed more violence if politicians don't change their behaviour in 2016.
He also appealed to Ugandans to vote capable leaders when they go to the polls, and not small offers they make to them like soap and salt.
