CP fails to field a presidential candidate, Back FDC

The Conservative Party (CP) has not fielded a candidate to contest in next year's presidential elections. CP Party President Ken Lukyamuzi yesterday said the party opted for a coalition candidate. He noted that this was a moment of test for the opposition if they fielded many candidates. He said that the concervative party will rally behind the Forum for Democratic Change president Dr. Kiiza Besigye. Lukyamuzi advised all opposition presidential candidates including UPC's Miria Obote of UPC, John Sebaana Kizito of DP and Nasser Ssebaggala to join the coalition, and stage a tough competition for president Museveni. He however refuted reports that his party failed to raise the required signatures and the Shs 8 million shillings required for the nominations. Presidential Nomination ended yesterday.
