Uganda's Joshua Kiprui Cheptegei was in good form when he beat a field of top athletes at the 32nd Edition of the Seven Hills 15km run in Netherlands on Sunday.

The 19-year-old Cheptegei started in style with the leading group before he accelerated in the last five kilometers to finish with a time of 42.39 minutes.

In second and third positions were Ethiopia's Mule Wasihun and Yenew Alamirew, while world marathon champion Ghirmy Ghebreslassie settled for 7th place.

Cheptegei who also represented Uganda at the World Championships in China this year is the reigning world junior 10,000m champion.

Olympic gold medalist Stephen Kiprotich did not finish among the top 20 runners.

Ghebreslassie caused one of the biggest upsets of the IAAF World Championships in Beijing two months ago where he defeated one of the strongest fields ever assembled for a championship marathon including Dennis Kimetto, Wilson Kipsang, Lelisa Desisa and Kiprotich.

In the women's event Ethiopia's Yenenesh Tilahun needed a blistering sprint to beat Jip Vastenburg. The run attracted 6000 participants.
