The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is in the process of verifying qualifications of SC Villa's newly signed Spanish coach Antonio Flores.

Edgar Watson, the Chief Executive of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (Fufa) told URN on Wednesday that they received the documented qualifications for Flores and sent them to CAF for verification.

Watson explained that the required qualifications for a coach to handle a Uganda Premier League side in Uganda is a minimum of CAF B or its equivalent. He said it is only CAF that can verify if Flores' qualifications attained in Europe and equivalent to the standards.

SC Villa, Uganda's most decorated club last month unveiled Flores as their new coach. Flores who is a UEFA Pro Coaching license holder was previously assistant coach of Spanish third Division side, CD Roquetas.

Club President Ben Immanuel Misagga told URN that verifying Flores' qualifications is not a problem because their coach is a highly trained and qualified coach.

SC Villa are Uganda's most successful having lifted the Uganda League trophy a record 16 times and the Uganda Cup nine times. They finished second in the 2014/2015 Azam Uganda Premier League before winning the Uganda Cup. They will Uganda in the 2016 CAF Confederations Cup.
