Students of Busitema University Arapai campus have staged a demonstration over guild elections.  They turned rowdy after discovering that the number of ballot papers delivered was less than the number of registered voters. A student who spoke to URN on condition of anonymity explained that there are 1800 registered voters but only 1600 ballot papers were delivered.

The angry students also vowed not to take part in the elections unless the university administration provides all of them with Identity cards. As a result of the protests by the students, the elections were postponed to Tuesday after the additional ballot papers are delivered. Following the unrest at the university campus, police swung into action to calm down the situation. Deogracious Olila, the Vice Chancellor Arapai campus admitted that there was unrest at the campus, saying they are doing everything possible to ensure the elections are held today.
