Busia grade II magistrate’s court has remanded Pastor Moses Wandera of Grade Commission Church and his usher Juma Musa alias Rooney for aggravated robbery.

They appeared before Bashir Kahawa, the Busia Grade II magistrate on Wednesday, but were not allowed to take any pleas because the court lacks jurisdiction over the matter.

It is alleged that on September 27 pastor Wandera and Juma, robbed Kenya Shillings 280,000 at gun point from Timothy Odwori Omondi. The suspects allegedly drew out a pistol and threatened to shoot their victim unless he gave them the money. Odwori reported the matter to Kenya police that in turn contacted Uganda Police to trace down the suspects.

Bob Kagarura, Busia District Police Commander says that the suspects have on the wanted list of notorious thugs in the district. He says that the suspects have been terrorizing businessmen in Busia town. Kagarura says investigations into the case are still ongoing adding that Pastor Wandera is connected to a chain of thugs.
