Police in Pallisa are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of three teenagers whose bodies were found dumped in Odwarat swamp in West ward in Pallisa Town council over the weekend.

They are 12-year-old Charles Otukei, 13-year-old Adupa Odeke and 15-year old Maganda. Both Maganda and Odeke are siblings while Otukei is their cousin. The trio's bodies were found dumped in Odwarat swamp by residents on Saturday morning.

Francis Onyakian, the LC I Chairperson Kaucho A village says the death of the trio is a big shock in the area. He however, says it is not certain how the teenagers met their death and their bodies ended up in the swamp.

Catherine Edith Basalirwa, the acting Pallisa District Police Commander says the teenagers could have been killed before their bodies were dumped in the swamp because they found vehicle tyre marks where the bodies were found. The DPC says they have launched investigations to get to the bottom of the matter.

A postmortem report prepared by Dr. David Okoth, the Medical Superintendent of Pallisa general Hospital shows that the trio had their necks twisted and internal injuries.  Betty Aguti, an auntie to Tukei says her nephew has been staying with his grandfather John Odeke, a resident of Okaucho village.

According to Aguti, Tukei was last seen at home on Friday evening at around 6: 00 pm when he returned a weighing scale. The trio was involved in vending pork opposite Pallisa girls SS along Agule road. The bodies of the trio were buried on Sunday at Kaucho ward.
