After stopping Somalia in the opening match, the Silverbacks faltered to suffer defeat to defending champions Egypt in game 2. They need to come all out to try and win the game today and Rwanda tomorrow to finish behind Egypt and qualify for the Afro Basketball and next year's All Africa Games.
Team captain Stephen Omony told URN in an interview on Saturday that they must take the game to the Kenyan team if they hope to win. He also said they need to rectify issues in their defensive department because Kenya play a very physical game.

Kenya are expected to come all out after losing to Egypt 85-53 last night in a one sided game. The other two games on card this afternoon will see Egypt play Somalia in the men's category, before Kenya take on Egypt in the women's category.
In the games played yesterday, Uganda's team for women (Gazelles) brightened their their chances after stopping Egypt.
The Ugandan team that had lost two games to Kenya and Egypt approached the game with lots of agency to win 78-45. The women's category is being played on a round robin basis with each team playing each other twice. Uganda's women's team will now have to beat champions Kenya in their last game on Sunday.
The two best teams after the climax of the event on Sunday win the event will automatically qualify for the Afro Basketball and next year's All Africa Games in Congo Brazzavile.
