Over 68 families in Bugala and Bulume villages in Mutumba Sub County in Namayingo are in the cold after their houses were destroyed by a heavy down pour this afternoon. The rains that lasted for over 4 hours also destroyed over 6 acres of banana plantations. Patrick Ochieng, the LC I chairman Bugala says that the affected families have taken shelter in the nearby schools and churches.


Ochieng says that this is the second time within a space of one month the area has been hit by a storm. Charles Kitosi, the LC III chairman Mutumba Sub County says that the families urgently need food aid and medicine. Kitosi appeals to the relevant Non Governmental Organizations to come to the aid of the victims.
 
 
James Musoga, one of the affected residents says that he took off with his three children and a few belongings after his hut was swept away by the rain. Musoga says that his entire household property was destroyed by the rain.
