Court in Mbarara has further remanded 45 Rwandan nationals accused of terrorism. The suspects appeared on Monday morning before the Mbarara Grade one magistrate, Daphin Ayebale for the mention of their case.
During the mention of the case, the State Prosecutor, Anthony Ulijishuli asked for more time to enable the state complete its investigations. Ulijishuli said they had delayed to proceed with the investigations due to lack of funds.
The defense lawyers, Franco Barenkensi from Legal Aid project Mbarara and Innocent Okong of KOB Advocates and Solicitors asked court to ensure the suspects are treated like any other suspects instead of locking them in Nalufenya.

The 45 Rwandan nationals were picked up from Kikagati in Isingiro District in December last year at the Uganda-Tanzania border for subversive activities on their way to Tanzania for a Christian fellowship.
They were arraigned before the Mbarara chief magistrate's court, which remanded them. However, their lawyers insist that the suspects are Rwandan refugees from Nakivale settlement camp.
